The Library Friends are having a good ol’ fashioned fire sale in the library foyer on Friday and Saturday, February 24 & 25, 2017. All books will be priced at 25 cents and 10 cents per books. That’s right! All books are a quarter or a dime!
No, these books weren’t damaged in a fire, nor is the Friends’ booksale going out of business, they just have a big inventory of paperbacks and other miscellaneous that needs to be moved out before the library starts renovations later this summer!
Come on over to the library and bring your piggy banks, this is sale you won’t want to miss!
The foundation is participating in #GivingTuesday on Tuesday, November 28, 2016. #GivingTuesday unifies charities, corporations, small businesses, and individuals from across the globe to show that the world gives as good as it gets.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources. You can learn more about the #GivingTuesday organization here.
You can give with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express at our Online Giving Page for #GivingTuesday. If you prefer to give via cash or check, you may drop off your donation at the library (attention Audrey) or mail to Grand Island Public Library Foundation, P.O. Box 1364, Grand Island, NE 68802.
